Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPyfq3yollo

Pastor Wes White, a critic of the Federal Vision, recently posted an imaginary conversation (johannesweslianus.blogspot.com/2010/02/conversation-with-fv-minister-about-his.html) with an Federal Vision minister, which he claims represents the Federal Vision. He was challenged on his understanding of what a pastor and advocate of the Federal Vision would say, and therefore put together a series of quotes to back up his claims here (johannesweslianus.blogspot.com/2010/03/confirming-quotes-for-conversation-with.html). We believe that he does not treat these texts in their proper context. Pastor White appears to be unwilling to admit that he has taken quotes out of context, and he also is unwillling to contact the individuals who wrote them to clarify what they meant.

We felt that the best way to illustrate his faulty understanding was to replace his imaginary Federal Vision Pastor with a real one.

Pastor Douglas Wilson, of Christ Church, in Moscow, Idaho answers these same questions. Pastor Wilson is a proponent of the Federal Vision, and drafted the Joint Federal Vision Profession. Prior to the following recording, he had not read Pastor White's imaginary conversation.

  • If a husband puts a ring on in a wedding ceremony, it may not make him automatically faithful, but it does make him married. He has already entered a covenant with his wife whether or not he took that covenant seriously. If he is not faithful after the covenant has been cut, it becomes a broken covenant.

    This guy is confused.

  • @rbmath No it does not! I am done fighting with you. Good Bye.

  • @OneFaithMinistries .. Yes it does.... And NO I never assumed that you support infant baptism only...

  • @rbmath No, it does not sound that way, you just didn't take it the right way because for some reason you thought I supported Infant Baptism ONLY! I don't. I generally support both. You can read for about that on my channel.

  • @OneFaithMinistries than WHY say this about baptism " the sealing of Christians under Christ's Blood" since you and I agree that baptism does not save... its more correct to say, Christ's blood ALONE is the sealing of Christians. Baptism is just symbolic. The way you phrased it sounds a lot like adding to Christ's blood...

  • @rbmath There again, twisting my words. I will not fight with you.

  • @rbmath No. What is a sign? A SYMBOL. IT is an outward sign of your salvation. A SYMBOL! Have you not heard of the Sealing of the Holy Spirit in Christ. Baptism is the sign that we belong to God. Now, again, you DO NOT have to be Baptized to be saved. Baptism is not a work and I am NOT adding to Christ's blood. I am not going to fight about Infant vs. Believers Baptism with you because the act of Baptism SAVES NOBODY!

  • @OneFaithMinistries Exactly where does it say in regards to OT Circumcision that needed to repent before being Circumcised? It say no such thing... and you did not say "Baptism was symbolic" if you had I would not have said anything about it...

  • @OneFaithMinistries The reason I mentioned the book is because it make a good study aid.. and NO I'm not misunderstanding "infant baptism" YOU SAID: What he is saying is Baptism is a sign of the covenant we have in Christ; the New Covenant, the sealing of Christians under Christ's Blood...(WHICH IS ADDING TO THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.). THAN IN regards to infant baptism you said: Also, those who hold to Infant Baptism as a symbol parallel it with Old Covenant Circumcision.

  • @rbmath Do not put words in my mouth please. I just said Baptism was symbolic. You CAN go to Heaven without water Baptism; however, Christ commanded us to be Baptized. And when Peter said "Repent and be Baptized" he was not talking to Infants. Again, we should NOT fight about it. I don't need a book on Believers Baptism, I have been Baptized. I wish to study the scriptures when I come upon this issue. From what I see, you are misunderstanding the folks who hold to Infant Baptism.
