Hit and Run is the shit! I wish they had this concept everywhere you pull up and you get anything delivered to you're car, gas, food, whatever. I have lived other places and sorely missed Hit and Run.
what the negative posters miss is that Alton is an incredibly diverse town despite being so small, and it has improved quite a bit in the last 10 to 15 years. Yes, there is very little industry left, but with St Louis nearby that doesn't really matter. If you look at the positive Alton has a rich history, beautiful and unique architecture, fantastic restaurants and bars and, some of the most interesting and easy to get along with people I have met anywhere and I have been everywhere.
i really wish i had better things to say about my home town. they invited poverty when they contracted to build housing projects all across the town. theyve pushed out every business worth having. now everyone wants out and they dont have people who can afford to pay taxes as inhabatants. its a shame what this beautiful city has become.
This place is going down the drain. Most major employers have downsized or left. The weather is terrible most of the time and there are a bunch of uneducated fat asses, Whi-gerians and filthy hicks everywhere you look.
Been here 4 years. and I love the city. Wouldn't live anywhere else. Alton has improved dramatically over the last 10 years or so. I got lost in the very neighborhood I live in now when I first got my drivers license. Gotta admit it was a little scary back then. But now I feel perfectly safe walking my dog in this neighborhood at any hour.

@IceC80 the ghetto part is on the decrease, can't you see they are getting rid of the projects?

Alton is my home I love it to death, I'm not happy of what it's become, but at least they have gotten rid of the projects for the most part.

@IceC80 5) If you live in Alton for one day, you'll be sure to hear some sirens....

@MojaveGreenXXX Alton has a few good things, but, for the most part, I can't help but view the town as a mix between ghetto and hick.....
Evidence of ghetto/hick town:
1) Drive through gas station called "Hit and run"
2) TONS of fast food joints and gas stations while only a couple grocery stores
3) The most well known establishments include a bar (fast eddies) and a casino
4) The only vehicles people own are pick up trucks, motorcycles, or piece of shit cars with tricked out tires...

@Jukeboxheroswsprod I don't blame you ;-). Luckily you have St. Louis kind of close by....
