"Ela Ela - Osanna" was the first album from these Greek musicians who based in Paris. With 2 guitar players, organ, harpsichord Axis was united musicians from late sixties groups, among them Juniors and We Five. Like Aphrodite's Child they were based in Paris for some time. Like their more illustrious compatriots they succeeded in breaking into the hit lists, with a Greek traditional called "Ela Ela".
Axis played archetypical heavy progressive rock with great organ and electric guitars, with couple of tracks were even in line with the British mellotron-rock (King Crimson, Gracious and Spring). Axis disbanded in 1974, after the release of their third album that failed to make it commercially, in Greece as in the rest of Europe. Organ player Demis Visvikis and bassist Dimitris Katakouzinos joined Demis Roussos backing band. They sung in English.
