Well the way she came up to you was rude. If she want's to have you as a client come up to the person say hey My name is ____ and I do hair. Here is my card, and I would love to give you a cool modern cut. Never put down the future client. That woman was just wrong.

I could not agree more...I am a hairdresser/nail tech/esthetician and I make sure that put my best face forward...hair, makeup, and nails...however i have had the displeasure of working with some that think that this is optional. I tell new stylists to look in the mirror and ask themselves "Would I want myself to do my hair, etc...the way I look." I believe that if you are going to represent the industry you should always look the part.

I've had one negative experience and it was meant to be a reputable salon! they actually double booked me with another client! I managed to be seen on time though. There was no receptionist (she had gone home) so the phone kept going off - while midst shampooing my hair she goes to take the call! WTH?? Not only that i wasnt even quoted the correct price for my haircut. Talk about disorganised!

I agree withu sherry! I went to this 1 lady. Dont get me wrong, she was on POINT! But her bf came in the door cussin her azz out and they proceeded to arguedirecly above my head! I wish the drama cud stay home so it doesnt outshine their skill.

@OBSERVING09 I agree! I can't stand when the hair dresser's phone is blowing up constantly with personal calls! So unprofessional!

I completely agree! The stylist I normally go to is one that keeps her hair and makes sure the rest of her staff is up to point, whether is a new color, cut whatever, they always look great and I wouldnt go to any place else where they stylists (nail techs etc.) dont look presentable. Just not cool

I can't agree more. You are representing your service, please make the effort to look and act professional. Thanks for the vid. Love your hair!

We all know that there are days when you just don't have the time!
But on such days you can always go for a simple pony tail or bun, and just plain, clean finger nails.
I often wonder how someone obviously finds those extra minutes in the morning to do their mascara, but not to take their chipped nail polish off.
Well, I guess it's just beyond me... ;)
I stop going to salons for other reasons BUT back in Atlanta while walking out of the bank, I had a stylist who's hair was in a 2" ponytail, dry, split ends everywhere with thin edges while running her fingers through my hair(without asking) & handing me her card quoted "Yo' hair is too long & boring, I can cut & update for you and make it look much better than it does". I gave her a blank stare & got in my car. SMH

I so totally agree. I think the experiences that you describe is what drove me to be a in house beautician for the last seven years. I got so tired of what I call 'stacking'...whent he stylist over bookes and you sit around with a wet head or in the shampoo bowl 'waiting' your turn when you clearly made an appointment. If you are not together...then I don't need to sit in your chair...I will just do my hair at home and come out looking better and still have money in my pocket.
My .08 cents!
