Oakington94 - I own a Guvnor and theres no problem fitting mudguards. I have with mine. Spoils the look a little but you can always remove them during dry periods.

The answer to your question is yes and no! Yes, because with its hub brakes and hub gear (my bike has a three speed Sturmey Archer) the bike is virtually maintenance-free and no, because it does not really have the capability to carry luggage or sport mudguards. Granted though, a rack could be bodged and 'crud catcher' type mudguards could be fitted.
