Broken China is a progressive rock solo album by Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright. It documents his wife's battle with depression, and is very much like a classic Pink Floyd concept album in its structure and overall feel. Two songs, "Reaching for the Rail" and "Breakthrough" feature Sinéad O'Connor on lead vocals, with Wright singing elsewhere. The album was recorded in the Wrights' personal studio in France.
LYRICS:
Now you feel it, a shiver and you begin
Frozen breath that scrapes across the skin
And a sound you've never heard before, you screaming
Welcome to the world of random noise
Where you simply haven't got a choice
When they push your levers and pull your strings
It's another world, it's a better world that we bring
Here you are on the planet of hot and cold
Where you'll do as exactly as you're told
In a world of a 1000 furry toys
You can hear the screams
Of little girls and boys
It's a charming noise
If you really want that kind of thing, mama
Now you feel it, a shiver and you've begun
When they pull those strings how you'll start to run !
And there's no stepping off or stepping down
It's another world and it's a better world,
That's what we have found
@Ironbulluk No way David bullied Richard, they were best mates and apparently David was by his side when he died. Roger, yes, when he was at his worst/most frustrated, but I think Roger has mellowed considerably. But forget Dave as a bully, especially towards Richard

Stunning album. I always had the impression that he was bullied by Roger Waters and Dave Gilmour and his influence submerged but his sound pushed Pink Floyd from merely excellent R&B band to the complex musical titans that they were at their peak
