  • A classic song from Brian Warfield and brilliantly sung as only Tommy Byrne can. Paddy Reilly also covered it.

Surely The Wolfe Tones have been the most creative ballad group ever in Ireland!

  • Across The Broad Atlantic was one of the best albums about Emigration they ever done.

and rightly so Paddy Reilly is great at singing it too.

  • A classic from the 'Tones, don't here it very much anymore, I had almost forgotton about this. great songwriting from Brian, mighty singing from Tommy, as a Dublin song, this one is up there with ''The Rare Old Times''. is that a harmonica I hear in the backround ?

    Anyway brilliant song

  • It is great song, with a bit of history about Dublin that should by played more and not forgotten, thanks for the comment dardo.

  • I read somewhere that for some, Tommy Byrne's voice is considered a national treasure. True enough. I can't hear this song without getting chills.
