After Terry Wogan retired from his Radio 2 Breakfast show on Friday 18th December 2009, I felt that the occasion should be marked in some way.

Terry has always been an inspiration to me, infact it was his influence on morning Radio during my childhood that sparked my interest in Radio and ultimately was the reason that I joined the Radio industry in the first place. He is more than a legend, to millions of listeners and Radio 'bods' he is one of their dearest friends. He is one of the most respected, if not the most respected figure in the Radio industry and so many people in the industry owe so much to Terry and it is of course undoubted that everyone will miss him in the mornings as he hangs up his headphones after 50 years in Broadcasting.

I was never a TWIT, that honour predates me, however I have been a TYG and now am very proud to call myself a TOG. Terry has been a part of my morning routine for longer than I'd care to remember and I know that there will be an immense hole in the nation's Breakfast without him. He is not just a hard act to follow, he is a hard act to beat and I'm sure that we will never see his like in the Broadcasting industry again. Others may come and go, but no one will ever be Terry Wogan again.

In honour of the occasion, I thought I would share a short Documentary I produced based on Terry back in 2005 during my time as a Student at NEWI in Wrexham. It could probably do with being updated again now! But it is still a fitting tribute to his immense career as one of the World's leading Broadcasters. Certainly worth putting in a glass case and throwing sugar at it!

I would like to wish him all the best for his new venture on Sunday mornings and hope he enjoys his lay-in during the week now.

Terry, on behalf of myself, all your TOGs, your friends in Broadcasting and anyone who has had the pleasure of hearing your voice over the last 50 years, I would like to wish you all the best for the future and we WILL miss you.
