  • can nylon strings go on a regular acoustic?

  • @thisgirlalexaa they can - but you typically wouldn't do that... you may not be able to attach them to the bridge - just depends on your guitar

  • @HackDaaFoo090 - Usually you can't because of the way that the string attaches to the body of the guitar... for classical guitars the strings are typically tied to the bridge. - plus steel strings add lots of extra tension that nylon strings don't... so i would definitely not recommend it. (i've never seen anyone do that)

  • @Setareh712 - always glad to save a guitar's life :)

  • @lukpat1 - ahh yes, good point, I forgot to mention that yes you should cut off the excess string at the head of the guitar - but just be careful not to cut it TOO short, because sometimes the string will slip back through and you won't have enough length to work with - i always cut it leaving around half an inch or so.

  • @theBlackNeonxX - if your strings have a ball on one end, then you probably have steel strings. Do they look like they're made from steel? or are they somewhat clear like they're made from plastic / nylon? If you do have nylon strings that have a ball on one end, you can simply cut the ball off and tie the strings to the bridge of your guitar like I did in the video.
