  • @DiceCarlinKinison The Packers were 1-10-1 in the season before Lombardi took over and in his first season with them in 1959, they finished at 7-5. The Redskins had 14 losing seasons before Lombardi took over in 1969 and guided them to a finish of 7-5-2. So he was on pace to repeat what he did with the Packers. We'll never know...he died of cancer before the 1970 season started. Lombardi won 5 NFL titles in his 9 years with the Packers, Knoll won 4 NFL titles in his 23 years with the Steelers.

  • I love how Lombardi gets going into his subject halfway through the clip, demonstrating very animately blockinc techniques. Never listen to anyone saying he was just a screaming tyrant. This man was a COACH! John Madden attended a seminar on this play (an 8 hour version of this clip) and still talks about it today. He said it changed his life as a coach.

  • As a Steeler fan, I object to any attempts to denigrate Vince Lombardi as a means to elevate Chuck Noll's accomplishments. Both coaches' accomplishments are legendary.

  • Chuck Noll is still the only Head Coach to win FOUR Super Bowls. And he's the only head coach to draft four hall of famers from one single draft before winning the first of four Super Bowls in six years. Then got his second Repeat that no franchise has even been able to do themselves. Double repeats, four in six years, four hall of famers in one single draft. And his first draft as head coach in 1969 was Mean Joe Greene (HOF). 1970 Terry Bradshaw (HOF), 1971 Franco Harris HOF,1974 four hof drafts

  • Do they even TEACH football like that these days? Such detail and precision for one play, and he explains it even for laymen like myself to understand.

This is what is missing from football nowadays - no attention to detail or discipline.

  • @DiceCarlinKinison Exactly he died soon after, so who knows how many championships he could have won with the Redskins. Also, the only reason Lombardi doesn't have FIVE Super Bowl rings is because they didn't exist until 1966 and he died in 1970.

  • @DiceCarlinKinison gurgle gurgle...

  • @DiceCarlinKinison He died a year after coaching the Redskins, so he gets a pass there.

  • everyone gurgles Lombardi's jizz and they don't even know why. He left the Packers to coach the Redskins and didn't do shit with them. Plus, Chuck Noll doubled his super bowls getting 2 repeats in six years. And Noll is still the only Head Coach to win FOUR Super Bowls. Need to remember he also drafted hall of famers in '69, '70, '72, and then four future hall of famers in the 1974 draft. LOL people don't do their homework and they look stupid

  • Bill Walsh will always be my top coach, but Lombardi was a very, very remarkable man. What a job he did.
