Imagine le me* trying to take off the hardrive, but instead of releasing the hatch on the logicboard, I decided to takeoff the hard drive connector cable from the hard drive, it remains connected to logicboard. So hard drive by its lonesome, and some black comb like piece too small to put back on. le me* slapping myself on my face hole.

Good day to you sir. I have come upon a problem as have many who have wandered into the depths of the ipod fixing tutorials on youtube.
Part: is a small, black, perforated part that blocks or holds in the hard drive connector cable, which is connected to the harddrive.
Problem: it's come off the little spikes that were holding it in place, and has broken in two.
Help: ?

hi i have ipod 30gb and the click wheel completely doesn't work. i have taken it apart using you're video. i noticed in the area where the click wheel connection is, it has a pale white dirty powdery substance on the logic board. how can i clean the logic board without damaging it and what should i use. can this be the cause of the click wheel not working or do you think i should still change the click wheel??

My broken 5th gen when I opened it up, a little black square piece fell out. It has some copper wire in the middle of it and it looks like there's another one near where the hard drive connects. I don't know where this piece goes or if I have to replace something else. One of my kid's friends left it here a couple years ago because it didn't work and I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. When I brought it to the apple store they told me it needed a new hard drive so I have one on the way.

Therefore i would need to open it right? There is no way to do it, as it is from just the wheel?

@Boris0wnd112 It will either need a new LCD or logic board. You can send it in for a free no-obligation diagnostic. Check out our GadgetMenders site!

is there a way to fix a button that is not clicked well? Like the home button?
thanks

@harisel Yes, you have to get underneath the clickwheel and re-center the circular rubber adhesive. it's very tiny!

i have an 80 gb ipod video that needs a new battery, but i dont know which to get. i found a 850mAh and a 950mAh.
the original one seems to be 850mAh but the 950 is supposed to last longer between charges, but i wonder that if i put in a more powerfull battery than the one it was desined for i might damage the ipod.
would it be ok to put a 950mAh battery in it?

@Verliebt You should be fine installing a battery with a larger mAh rating if the voltage rating is the same as your old one. However, I have not seen the battery you intend to install so I cannot make any suggestions or guarantees that it will not damage your iPod.
