Simran's Story

Simran Sarai was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was six years old. Her father, Sarj Sarai, describes his daughter as independent, energentic and a go-getter. He expressed her strength as uplifting; couraging her family's determination to fight the cancer and not to give up. During her two-year stay at BC Children's Hospital, Simran remembers the doctors coming to her isolated room explaining to her that she has "a cancer named Leukemia". Her family's moto was "let there be a tomorrow" and in January 2009, they had won the battle, leaving Simran in remission, with many happy days to look forward to.
