Hi-8 video taken of the 1991 Blackpool Pleasure Beach fire which destroyed the old Fun House attraction and other rides in the park.
The music used, although a well known piece, is copyright free.
SmartSound SonicFire Pro was used to generate the music.
In 1991, this footage was not shown on TV due to a mix-up in communications between myself and the BBC. So this footage has never been seen before.

  • it's strange how watching this makes me sad, but i wasn't even alive when the fun house was around

  • I hate this gutted feeling I get from watching this, I would be really interested to see what was stored in there and so on.

  • 20 years on looking back at this.

  • Everyone who say that Geoffrey Thompson did this, The back of the Fun House only had a wall, so it could have been jumped over, Geoffrey Thompson almost lost his car which was in a garage near the Fun House, and if he wanted insurance money, he could have easily destroyed Frontierland, his only failing Theme Park

  • @RangewayTelevision According to Wikipedia, the fire was started by vandals! Pathetic really, they have destroyed a piece of history that will never be retrieved. It burnt down in my birth year, I never got a go :(

  • how did the fire started?

  • @1996Coaster were Valhalla is now

  • where was the Fun House in the park?

  • Anyone with Blackpool connections knows that this was not an accidental fire. The Pepsi Max Big One had to be paid for, and the Fun House just wasn't making money anymore. Insurance job. It was also amazing that many of the items that had supposedly perished in the blaze were to be found exactly where they were supposed to be at the start of the next season. Not new ones - the original ones.
