The Neo iOn (part number PODVW2V6 ) is a kit to interface an iPod to a VW Jetta Monsoon factory stereo.

Purchased from www.iCarKits.com for $134.99

It was actually pretty easy to install.

Now I can listen to my favourite podcasts (Skeptics Guide to the Universe, Amateur Scientist, Mac Break Weekly, Windows Weekly, Security Now, etc) safely during my commute.

  • Hello, I'm planning to buy one of those but I need to know if it can keep browsing the music even if I using a GPS app on Iphone. Can you test this feature for me? Can you see the name of the music on your player?

    Thanks!

  • @heitort5 Yes, music can play simultaneously with using the iOS native Maps application; this is the same behaviour as using the iPhone when you are walking around, listening to music while viewing maps. The name of the song does not display on my car's stereo; I think this is a limitation of the car stereo; this was all explained to me on the Neo iOn web site before I bought the device.

  • what about when u wanna listen to a cd in the trunks cd changer or ifu got a cd port in the head unit?

  • @byondvision The Six-Pack CD in the truck is rendered useless with this. But I don't care, as I have my entire music collection on my iPod, so I don't miss the CD player.

  • It's such a great feeling when you hear music from your i-pod come through the stereo.

  • @triplethreatvette True Enough!
