Great watch and great review! My dad has the 16610 version, and I love it. Now I'm thinking to get one for myself, 116610 version. I'm just wondering if the new version is thicker than the old. and how much did you pay for yours? If you don't mind I ask.
thanks for the video =)

I have an '09 Stainless Steel Sub w/ Date. Bought in Oct. '09 for $6,000. Should I trade up for the new Sub w/Date Ceramic bezel that is now $8,000 or should I hold on to mine for a while?

Chica, what a duche....

Well... apparently Rolex's "ceramic" bezel brakes just as easily as any of the Faulex's but coasts a grand to have replaced when it shouldn't be more than a hundred or so, and you should be able to order it... but nooo, nooo, Seiko too. Like they say... "Rolex is the best $800.00 watch that cost over $5,000.00." The crown has an o-ring gasket under the top of its cap, plus another one on the stem tube that you see when crown is unscrewed that keeps the stem tube threading cleaner and dryer.

Explorer two is a cheaper alternative to the new Sub. It is very nice but
The sub is the more elegant watch especially on the eye with more professional properies and charactor. It also has fantastic history. How about the new Sub LV,perfection up close it's beautifull to look at. The green's a classy touch. Tops the list!

A good detailed informative review. Good work and nice watch!
Dont go for a explorer 2 keep the sub, a proper mans watch
The new Sub Ceramic LV is alright, not great. I have heard the dial plays, as in it changes colors in different light settings. A great combination would be to remove the green bezel from the SubC LV and put it on a normal SubC with black dial. That way you create a classic LV with a ceramic bezel. Hopefully I can do that and do a review of that because I think it would look pretty cool.

@rocketpower866 you have to be careful;because this are ceramic bezels and you may brake it.

You bring up a very good point. I saw a "shark" model where the owner purchased a blue ceramic bezel (for the white gold Sub Ceramic) and installed it on the black submariner ceramic. The result, the "shark," was absolutely mindblowing. It was great. He said the same, telling me that the bezel is very fragile and that few watchmakers want to touch it.

@rocketpower866 I had this watch(sub 116610) for 2 months but I sold it;because I prefer the white dials.(I lost 1000pounds)I paid 4610 british pounds for this watch from AD in Glasgow.I heard Rolex will update explorer 2 this year, what do you think?I really like exp 2 white dial! Excuse my writing I am better speaking...:-)

I do believe a new Explorer II with a supercase, orange GMT hand, and maxi dial will come. I am waiting to see the new movement, if there is one since when the GMT ceramic was introduced, the movement went from 3185 to 3186. But the latest classic Explorer IIs have all been using 3186, so it will be interesting to see what the movement gets changed to, if at all.
