Pet Idol calendar finalst Duke/ May 2009

This event was held to raise funds for a much needed expansion of the current Windsor Essex County Humane Society facility. Presently this faciity is too small to hold all the new unwanted pets.
Back in June of 2008 I entered a photo contest held by the local Windsor Humane Society.
I brought in a photo of our Bloodhound Duke to the society, and I was told my photo was not of good quality and it wouldn't be chosen.
So that day I went to the photo store and bought a new camera.
The next morning we loaded the kayaks and the dogs in the van and headed to the Belle River beach for fun in the sun.
After 6hrs two hundred photos later I had the photo I wanted of Duke.
So the next day with photo in hand I arrived at the Humane Society again. To the surprise and delight about a month later i received a call from the Humane Society that my Duke was a finalist in the 2009 Pet Idol Contest. Every contestant was invited to the Pet Idol Brunch. Each contestant walked the runway and here is that video of Duke's turn at fame.
