IK TIM-TIMAATAY DIYE KO SURAJ SAY NA MILAAO
ISS AWAAZ KO SURO'N KAY SAMRAAT SAY NA MILAAO
MAI AASHIQ HOON, PARASTAAR HOON RAFI SAHAB KA
MAI KHAAK HOON, MUJHAY KHAAK HI MEIN REHNAY DO !!
---Javid Raza

There were three musicians involved in re-creating this beautiful song. They are as follows.
Bobby Chatterjee -- Composer, music director, music teacher, music arranger, an extraordinary keyboard player, owns a beautiful studio with latest recording software in New Jersey. I call him the back bone of our group.

Deepak Gundani -- Tabla-Dholak-Octopad player.
Ashok Mathews -- Lead guitarist, wearing green shirt.

Bobby-Da, as I call him, has done a remarkable job. he meticulously arranged the music piece by piece, i.e. starting with base line, playing different instruments (saxophone, string, flute, base guitar, trumpet, bells, xylophone, cello and different percussion. You can judge him with his fathomless love for music. In 1967 the maestro, Madan Mohan Sahab composed this song for "Dulhan Ek Raat Ki", originally sung by the legend Rafi Sahab. This song was penned by the great lyricist Raja Mehdi Ali Khan Sahab and was recorded with at least 40-50 musicians. What amazed me, with this new music technology in 2010 ( Ii.e. after 43 years ) the entire song ( from scratch ) was re-created, played, directed, recorded and mixed by one gentleman --- Bobby-Da !! Deepak bhai assisted him in rhythm section and lead guitar was played by Ashok Mathews.

I dubbed the vocals under Bobby-Da's able direction in his Synerjee Studios. }

    Congrtualtions to you and Chaterjee Sahab.

    Your voice, the music and the recording is great.

    Faiz

  • A bit disappointing. The take off in the 2nd stanza especially the wierd stress on the word 'dil ke' sounds besura. Beside Rafi sahab hurries the word 'Shaam ko' a couple of times which you have ignored. Overall good but not upto the mark. Keep it up Javed.

  • Well done Javid Saheb. You did capture the essence of the song and congratulations to all the musicians who have helped you. shaukat. Keep up the good work.
