It's me, again. Today (December 5, Advent 2), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. I played it as the closing hymn. I will also play it tonight at an Advent service that they are having (opening hymn). I will also play it next week at my church for Sunday School Assembly. It also goes with Isaiah 40: 1-5, 25-26, 29-31, which was our Sunday School Lesson for today. It was entitled Receiving Comfort and Strength.

this is nice...last December I singlehandlely planned an advent lessons & Carols service for my campus ministry and it involves this hymn and I've enjoyed listening to your version of it...I can only hope your friend Cheryl enjoys this as much as I do

Like this song, we used to sing it in church with my school in Stockholm, Sweden when I was a kid. Nice upload.

It's me again. Today (Dec. 6), we sang this as the closing hymn. Ditto for me as I filled in at another Lutheran Church today.

Like your interpretation! Here in Sweden it's always being played a bit too slow to my taste, but it is still a magnificent Advent hymn. Tack så mycket!!

I'm Danish and German, and this too, is a favorite Hymn in our mostly German ELCA church, tha sits in the middle of an Illinois cornfield. I love this Hymn, and you did such a nice job playing it on that marvelous pipe organ. THANKS!!!

Awesome playing my friend! God Bless!

Tack så mycket.
Thank you for your great playing of this nice song. I'm half swedish, but catholic, so unfortunately I never hear this during the holy mass. Thanks vor uploading!
Lovely! Whose arrangement is this? I play piano for a Lutheran Church in NY and am always looking for new arrangements of hymns.

@erikkihss This is an improvisation I did... I'm sorry it's not written down but simply tickled that you like!

This Sunday (December 14), our ELCA in Northwest Suburbs of Chicago sang this as a closing hymn in the exact same Evangelical Lutheran Worship #264!!!

I sometimes think that it is rather keen that Lutheranism has such strong ties to Scandinavia - My heritage is Swedish, and I am always proud to hear when this hymn and other music like it is sung! Thanks!

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (December 7), we sang this as our closing hymn. It is #264 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship in the Advent section. Just thought I'd share.

This is a very popular hymn for the Swedish ELCA's I have served as it is usually sung in my Home Town's Lucia Festival Church Service as the opening hymn. I've played that service for the last four years, but I moved away for school and did not play this year. Thanks for sharing!!
