I've recently come back to my FFX-2 "Perfect" file and the first thing I wanted to do was finish the process of getting a "perfect" blitzball team, because I had been very close to accomplishing that before I abandoned the game in favour of playing something else.

I first discovered Blitzball a long time ago in its original shape (in FFX). At first, I didn't understand it very well and couldn't beat the Goers in the first match, but ended up playing it a lot and knowing it well.

I made many attempts to have a perfect file in FFX but never had the patience. The furthest I got was to a team average of around 65-70 (when Nedus reaches maximum speed). Passing around for experience was extremely tedious and I just never made it. My team was: Larbeight, Nedus, Vuroja, Kulukan, Ropp, Nimrook. I planned replacing one of the defenders with Nav Guado. Pretty standard, really.

In X-2, maxing a single player's stats was a much quicker process and I could actually do something else, i.e. read a newspaper, while mashing X (in X-2 you spend most of your time mashing X in the Train menu, at least I did). It was more bearable and I felt like I could actually reach the end here, and I did.

My team is:

Star Player - slightly above average speed, good starts for a shooter, okay overall stats. One could find better forwards but I wanted to have him because of his storyline importance.

Berrik - very good speed, 99/255 almost everywhere. Could make a better goalie than Yuna (the same could be said about Lucil, Yuyui and 2-3 other players in the game).

Yuyui - with 99/255 in every stat is a solid midfielder.

Lucil - 99/255 everywhere and 77 RCH. Easily the best player in the game.

Lakkam - has an amazing RCH of 90, which in addition to max ATK and BLK make her the best defender in the game.

Pretus - excellent defensive stats, above average RCH and a spectacular speed, a personal favourite. He's also Bickson's clone, which is lame.

Suzam - great defensive stats and a RCH of 80. Her PAS is the lowest in my team, but it's hardly noticeable for a defender.

Yuna - one of the best goalies in the game. After intensive training, she has max PAS and CAT (most importantly), as well as a great RNG (the third of three stats that matter for a goalkeeper).

In this video, Yuna makes a long pass to Star Player who for some reason fumbles this ball. I'm not sure why it happens, as it's not supposed to.

A lot of things doesn't make sense in X-2 Blitz, e.g. a player with an ATK of 20 can take the ball away from a shooter with 99 END without any pressure plays. I think this unpredictable element makes more sense if you remind yourself that the other teams don't grow and need to have at least *some* chance to win or score.

Background music: Liquid Tension Experiment - "Paradigm Shift" (from "LTE 1").

  • Blitzball in FFX-2 is extremely gay, the point of original blitzball was to control your characters not sit on the sidelines, Final Fantasy X-2 will always be in the shadow of FFX

  • @3bbo0ody506 There is no comparison between the two games, X is superior in every single way: musically, plot wise, game play, X-2 was OK at best, and most of the "fans" for ffx-2 were heavily disappointed.

  • @summerdays11 wait you can use tidus in ff x-2 how do you get him?

  • @Shinsengumi1324 chapter 5 luca

  • I kinda prefer this version of blitzball :D

I was planning to play this game only for the Blitzball... ^^

  • why is everyone complaining? It was a good game and gave you a different perspective on blitzball and gameplay. If you want to control your team then go to FFX but if you want to coach then go to FFX-2. It's a simple solution for both parties. Plus this was the first final fantasy game created after squaresoft and enix combined. cut them some slack. they did good.

  • @VolgoRussianmark at the end of x-2 tidus comes back and at new game plus u can use him

  • another reason i have never played x2, they changed a perfect game, i've played every ff (including one) except this one.

  • What the fuck is this bullshit version of blitzball?

  • @SquiNoa1 I wouldn't really know, as I barely played FFX2/Didn'tBotherWithExtras. But there's probably an accessory for it, or Breaking HP/Damage limit is not in the game. There would be no tricks. Look it up on FFWikia is you really want to know.

  • @Hakureii Thank you for your suggestion by the way...How can i get the break Damage limit and break Hp limit in Final Fantasy X-2? is there any tricks behind it..? sorry if i`am asking too much to you... :) and For the Coin sphere break I`am still to learn the basic and rules... :)
