Modern Combatives, started in 2002 as a way to promote the efforts, training methods and techniques of the Modern Army Combatives Program as created by Matt Larsen. The goal of Modern Combatives is to change the culture so that real combative ability is expected of every Soldier by teaching realistic training methods and growing self sustaining indigenous Combatives programs within units and organizations.

  • @Ascenscion123, Something to keep in mind!!! bjj, mma, wrestling and boxing are sports!! And that's all they'll be! They are not combat effective,or combat proven!!!

  • @TexasRob28 They do ...they use mma, muay thai, boxing, judo, bjj, wrestling and bayonet fighting without bayonets

  • @1DemonicBebeGringo not too lethal, not nearly as lethal as thought. doesn't mirror the realities of combat. call the gracies athletes all you want but a fight to the finish with no rules like ufc 1 was is a hell of a lot more of proving ground the techniques that work great in theory. fights are messy and dirty, people get knocked down fall down, get thrown taken down etc. knowing how to fight and finish a fight in all ranges is vital to any good martial aritst.

  • This is a joke!!!!!!! I work on an army post, and see this all the time. Rolling on the ground is all good until someone pulls a knife to equalize the fight!! These soldiers put there faith in BJJ?? They really need to think about doing some edged weapons training!! I put my faith in training in the weapon based Filipino art of Kali!! :) This is an art that is combat proven, over 200 years!!!! When has BJJ be used in combat?????

  • i recommend the army for cage fighting

  • yeah granted if i go in a room and my weapon jams i need it but i'm not by myself and i'm not taking off all my gear and"sterilizing" my uniform! use S.P.O.R.T.S. bro! maybe the national gaurd and reserve leaders got time since thier not training thier troops to help in combat! the army needs level one "go" on everything and Individual readyness training for specific jobs, oh wait they do have those goals! maybe not every soldier needs te wrastle 4 hours a day!
