I found my previous motorized kayak was too heavy. It changed the natural response of the kayak. The additional load of Watersnake 34lb,2x26Ahr batteries & other accessories weight 30kg. Here is my latest project with lighter weight design. The T18s saltwater model has 18lb thrust, drawing 15A and only weight 2.2kg. I use 26AHr Gel cell which can last long for 3 hr at slow speed 5.5A discharge rate. I also make a smaller motor bracket. The battery installed next to the motor mount and occupied the narraw part of rear well. I am now have full functional rear well available for my bucket/esky. The overall weight of power accessories reduced to 12kg with single battery. The GPS speed reading is 5km/hr at closed water fine weather. This light weight combination keep the kayak natural characteristic & paddling performace. This is the best combination compared to my previous projects.
