This demo shows how to paint with an angular shader and load three shades of color on the brush to easily paint roses using Marjorie's method. This is not intended to be a complete lesson but rather just to share Marjorie's technique since many people have requested it.

Marjorie uses Scharff Brushes and Folk Art Acrylic paint. Brushes and videos are available on Marjorie's website. www.Harrisclarkroses.com

  • Hello....Thanks...the paper is card stock. I think I varnished it first. I'm pretty sure your video is on it's way. I can't check right now. My husband is in the Hospice Care Center. This is a very difficult time...I'll check my orders when I get home. I'm staying with him. I hope you understand. Marjorie

  • @MarjorieHarris Although I just signed in to your video, I just read the above statement, and I am very sorry to hear you are going through this difficult time...my heart hurts for you because I know all too well what hospice is and the difficult decisions that lay ahead. Again, I may not know you but you have my prayers tonight and I hope that you are doing okay. I hope you can put your faith in the good Lord, as he does indeed hear all his children's prayers...God Bless...Laura.

  • @docella01030 ...Hello. Thank you....I'm alone with John...it's l a.m. and we just had some difficulties...he's comfortable again...more morphine. He has been battling cancer since 2009.....I'll stay here with him as long as he is here. So strange...trying to just

keep him comfortable and asleep. Quiet now....thank you again...my heart is breaking tonight....I'm talking to the computer.....

  • You are very, very talented!

  • @thequeenundisputed Hello! Thank you for your comments. Folk Art has changed colors since I made this video.....but any dark rich burgundy red color would work and any warm peachy pink would work. These do clean up well with water. Feel free to ask any questions you like....I'm always here...lol.....regards, Marjorie

  • You do beautiful roses! I'm learning about art on a course so this is useful for me! Cheers. :)

  • @79Louise Hello there! Thank you for the compliment...so nice of you to take the time to write. Regards, Marjorie harrisclarkroses

  • bonjour

  • @MarjorieHarris I'm praying for you and John. I hope all goes well for you <3

  • what kind of paper are you using and does it matter? I went and bought a pack of Artist's Loft brand drawing paper. I hope that is ok. I could not find Burgundy so I got one called Napthol Crimson and Titanium White and Baby Pink. I am still waiting for your video to come in the mail and I'll be set.(hopefully)

  • @MarjorieHarris Thank you! I'll keep that in mind if I ever have a question. :D

  • Marjorie, I love watching your videos. What a very nice presentation you give. I am so excited about getting started and I want to get your video and brushes as soon as possible. Are the three colors you are using available? I looked up FolkArt paints and I didn't see a baby pink or burgundy. Do these paints clean up easy with just water? So many questions. Please keep up the good work.
