I cycled from Ayr to Lewis to pay my respects to my grandfather's brother, Allan Macleod, lost in the Iolaire tragedy new year's day 1919. He survived four years of war only to be drowned in sight of home.

Sadly my grandmother lost 3 brothers in the Great War - 1 at sea, 1 in Belgium, 1 in Mesopotania (Iraq). Tragic war. They were born at Tobson (Bernara) and relotted to Lundale on Isle of Lewis.

That's surely the old MacBrayne's MV "Loch Seaforth" in the last frame.

Yes Cal', there for personal sentimental reasons just to fill in the slide show. The Loch Seaforth is how we used to get there in the 50's and 60's, I miss those days and I miss her too. Sorry for any confusion.
