aka how one Iowa guy lost over 200 pounds and gained his life back. I can not say enough about how positively the Atkins Diet and low carb in general has been for me. I went from a 429 pound guy who could barely make it up a flight steps to a guy running half marathons and rejoining the National Guard. My health is fantastic, and my blood work (cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, heart) could not be better.

How much exercise did you do? I've been going to the gym twice a week doing intense workouts (1 hour each time). I want to increase it to 4 times a week now. How much did you do?
When I first started, I didn't work out hardly at all. I rode a recumbent bike for a 10-20 minutes. I progressed to walking 15 minutes from there at 4 mph. That progressed to the elliptical trainer and biking on a cheap bike that I wouldn't care if my then 350plus pounds broke it. I did many many miles on that bike.
When I was closer to goal and rejoining the National Guard was near, I started running 2-3 miles. I also did resistance training too. Since then, I started running marathons.
bowulf you look amazing! have you kept the weight off? I'm on atkins for the third time and have lost a stone this week! I'd reccomend the diet to anyone cos the energy you get from it is incredible, but I find it hard to stick to. This time I'm going to go on a slimming world diet when I've lost four stone cos you've got the red days where you eat really low carb and that really seems to suit me. You're video is an inspiration!
Are you saying the Splenda just makes the cravings worse? If so, you might try some Chromium Picollinate. That helps others with cravings. If it is more of a reaction, then you could certainly try like a Truvia or Rebiana sweetener. It should be less of sensitivity concern.
My suggestion with cravings (check out my videos on the topic) is divert them as much as possible with other options like savory. If you aren't depriving yourself with other legal food, the cravings should be less.
Yes it just makes my cravings worse. I start off thinking that I'll just have a little, then it's two or three bowls then I can hardly control the cravings. I'll try to find some chromium picollinate.
