thats why urban raccoon population are out of control. Unlimited food, increases birth rate quantity and if there is food those babies will grow at a multitude.

Exactly, this coon can spread disease like distemper and rabies and a multitude of other illnesses to her cat by allowing them to feed in the same area and probably from the same bowl.

I've been feeding eight raccoons at my house for three years. They have always been polite guests, never hurt a thing.

I have seen first hand raccoons tear apart domesticated animals when they feel trapped for whatever reason. Unless you can read the raccoon's mind, you are playing with fire.

@Neil6000 I agree! This irresponsible behavior creates problems for other people on the block because it encourages this kind of feeding. Ultimately the raccoon becomes dependent, and this will not end well.

so cute the way the racoon is looking at you while eats like looking for approval :)

omg you're crazy! I'd be crapping my pants. I can't believe the raccoon acts surprised at the end like he just noticed you were filming him. But if this isn't a domesticated raccoon I hope you didn't do it again, it could become problematic.

I like how it keeps looking at the person or the cat in between bites of food.. keeping an eye on them. I don't know if I'd be able to resist letting a raccoon in and feeding it. I can't bring myself to hate them, even though one killed my dog (small old bichon) a few months ago. The back door was open for some reason, no one was home for a period of only 15 minutes. Most cats are probably smart enough to leave them alone, though.

I just saw a wild raccoon my back door step eating out of my garbage and my cat was sitting right beside it and when i scared the raccoon away my cat ran away with it. my cat is a fixed male and is scared of everything (even going outside in the day) but it seemed like they were friends! i'm not lying i swear to god. maybe the coon doesn't see my cat as a threat? i don't know.
You may end up very sorry letting the raccoon in like this and feeding it. This is a wild animal with unpredictable behavior that also carries rabies.
I have seen firsthand the damage that raccoons do to the insides of houses. Because you have let this raccoon know there is free food in your house, one day he may be back with several friends and break in when you aren't home. They don't stop at just eating cat food when given free run in a house; they tear EVERYTHING up.
Lock the cat door.
