Novak Brushless Slash

slash breaks half shaft and spur gear, do to over tightening of the slipper clutch.... I'm a noob.. trial and error i guess.. half shafts were broke do to lock differential and over tightening the clutch.. oh... and i forgot to mention rounding the wheel hexes as well,

i took it out at the same place the day before and broke 1 yoke on the half shaft, day after that witch is (the video) i broke the same yoke that i replaced, took it home to fix it and popped the gear guard off and there were aluminum shavings every where, this time ill get a metal spur gear and some metal half shafts,

so $168.76 in replacement "METAL" parts it will be fixed

i blame it on the lock differential and the lack of knowing how to set the clutch, could i be wrong??

what is the 8.5 brushless is it a little smaller power than a regular brushless

8.5 means the *turn*

so smaller the number of turns the faster it goes.

larger the number of turns the more torque it has,

i believe traxxas VXL brushless motor is a 10 turn, if thats what you mean by "regular"

I'm only running a 2s 30c 4400mah losi Lipo with a Novak 8.5 brushless system *gear ratio* is 86/18.. so I'm thinking some where around 50-55.

just ordered the the 5000Mah 3s 35c Venom LiPo so I'm hoping to hit around 60-65 if i up my gearing a little more,

Did you put the ball bearing slipper clutch in it? aftermarket one, someone just came out with , haven't put it in mine yet

ball bearing slipper clutch, ill have to look into it,

i had a 86t Aluminum HR spur gear in it,

i just bought a 91t Steel HR spur gear and Steel half shatfs,

Definately use your slipper clutch, so that it takes four to five seconds to accelerate to top-speed. I would recommend ulocking your differential, too. That's a cause of broken hardware.

8.5 s2 will do about 40 my 4.5 did 50 with 2s 40c 500mah at 86/26
