  • That's where you wrong airplanes where models before they became planes..same as buildings and cars..., etc. anyway you get the picture. plus i never said you where a genius just trying to help. Have a nice flying at the field.., I fly heli's.

  • @Mrinfoone I think we have got off on the wrong foot. i too fly helis just test flown my new raptor titan 50. i always fit the recomended parts a designer suggests unless it is a unknown design. flair have been doing the moth for so long now and i havn't heard one bad thing about the moth. but there are other designs of models where you certainly would change alott of things. boils down to personel choice realy but i do know what you were saying.

  • No problem if that what it needs. But for what I know about physics and anything thin and flat wobbles from wind resistance and vibrations. But maybe physics is wrong and what your pilot told you was right. But that is why also you didn't see any more wires after the regular wings and sweep back for better wind resistance came into play on today's modern jets and aircraft. Plus are still installed inside wood wings with fabric in smaller aircraft for strength and supports.

  • @Mrinfoone thing is i am not an aircraft technition i did not take any degrees in avionics.

I simply build scale models and the designer of the mentioned model supplies that wire in the kit as part of it. it is a working wire that holds the wings together not just for show.

i am a model builder not a real aircraft builder and i think you will find the physics of a model are somewhat different to the full scale aircraft.

  • You should have used that flat metal wire. Best change it..your going to get a cut that wont heal. get regular round wire and support the wings. Plus it will make for better wind resistance.

  • @Mrinfoone did you know that the flat wire gives less wind resisstance than round wire. this information comes from a tiger pilot with 3000 hours flying time in them. also it is what comes in the kit you would be hard to cut yourself on it as it's blunt. and you have more strength from thin flat than round wire .

  • i wish i had the money to build a full one that would be something wouldnt it......i love building the tiger moths.

  • Gary, when are you going to build the full-scale version?

  • the covering is solatex viral very nice to use on a model this size...tak it on then heat shrink it tight.
