@Chibiisuke Yes it can. The oxygen diffusing through the tissue is sufficient for the T to breath. In fact, I have received T's in plastic container without any hole at all and they all were fine.

I haven't tested using scientific methods but I have had a few stuck in subfreezing temperature for a couple of days with no problem.
