@soaringvulture I agree with you brother. It just don't get much better than this! I take back all the stuff I used to say about how the Stones should have replaced Mick T. with someone besides Ronnie! Ever heard the version of Brown Sugar with Clapton playing slide? That's pretty gritty and wonderfully dirty as well!

Jagger actually called Ronnie Wood to replace Brian Jones in the Stones. Ronnie had just joined the (Small) Faces. Ian Mac answered Jagger's call and told him to piss off, so they hired Mick Taylor instead. Ronnie was sitting between Jagger and Mick T. at a party when Taylor said he was quiting the Stones. Jagger leaned over to Woody and asked if he would help them out if needed. The Faces were already in turmoil because Rod was concentrating more on his solo stuff than the Faces.

Without a doubt the late 60s - early 70s were the high point on Rock, Stones, Led Zep, Faces and Free, classic's all the way.
