Sam Estes of Leilani Hapu'u Nursery literally has the BEST Nepenthes collection in the United States. He doesn't refer to himself as a carnivorous plant grower. He simply refers himself as a Nepenthes grower. He has bred hundreds of plants, many of which are absolutely jaw-dropping.

The nursery is located on the eastern volcanic slopes on the Big Island where it is ideal for growing Nepenthes. It's not too hot or sunny, and it rains enough to keep the plants happy. Every year we make a pilgrimage to his nursery for our annual dose of vitamin D, learn more about his growing techniques and hand pick a bunch of plants for our inventory.
