It is also a signature shot of some 100 players. Everybody who thinks that forehand is his best shot can say that it is his 'signature'. It doesn't mean that his forehand is the best in the world, it only means that forehand is the best in HIS repertoire.

Everyone thinks Blake is a failure or something. But hey I'm pretty sure I can't achieve what he achieved, nor can a whole bunch of the people that say he sucks. He isn't a Federer yes, but he did have some success in his career.

too bad thats his ONLY good shot lol. hes still sexy tho

@nuncjusz1 His forehand is one of the top 5 in the world. The others being Federer, Gonzalez, Soderling and Del Potro in my opinion. Soderling's is probably the most powerful, but not as much variety. Same thing with Blake, he takes the ball earlier than most and usually hits it flat, but misses a lot. Gonzo combines power and consistency. Del Po has the most reach on his forehand shots. But I think Federer has the perfect all-around technique on his forehand (power, variety, consistency, etc).

I'm gonna call Oxford University Press and thell them to put his name and his picture under "sexy" in the dictionary.

nobody said otherwise

@AceGuitarR7 not arguably. nando has one of the biggest fh ive ever seen and its a little more reliable, blake plays a little more on and off

It's amazing, it fucking works! I'm serious! I used to hit crappy forehands and with the sit and bench thing my forehand is like 150 times better
-
lol, the irony that they have james blake signature shot when hes playing fernando gonzalez whos forehand is arguably bigger than blakes.

I think this video it's genial but at the end it's funny to see that he is losing xD JAJAJA

lol these forehand video are so bullshit. All they talk about is the forward swing and never talk about the importance of backswing. This forehand would never be able to be performed if it doesn't have a short and swift backswing.

Considering that the video is only one minute and 36 seconds long, I think it's pretty good. I'm sorry it doesn't cover everything you think is important to hitting a forehand (i.e. backswing), but it doesn't cover a lot of things (i.e. footwork). But how comprehensive do you expect a minute-and-a-half video to be?
