Single mothers are one of the most impoverished groups. I get that custody laws are unbalanced, but it's hard to call favourtism in light of this.
Also, I know you're not trying to claim being above women. I'm just mentioning what is actually meant by equality, and why it's still an issue.

The legal system is an area that I didn't really mention. It is unbalanced, but it doesn't necessarily favour women. Reportedly 50% of the time men apply for custody they'll be awarded it -- the problem is often that they don't. There are times when men don't get to see their children unfairly, but to an extent that goes both ways.
Many women experience poverty because of custody laws defaulting to women, but this is a problem for women too.

@DieBlutgrafin agreed, no sex needs to be dominant, however, in a relationship, it is pretty natural for one person to be dominant. whether the couple is, straight, gay, monogamous, swingers, american, tahitian. it's the natural order of things.
-
That's... not true at all.
It's thought that equality existed between the sexes for tens of thousands of years. And still in some cultures women do share equal power with men.
No sex needs to be dominant. The issue of equality is often vastly misunderstood. Women do not need to be the same to have the same value. And again, even the differences between sexes are culturally reinforced more than actually representative.

I was addressing BoundlessEyes' comment when she said, "it's grumpiness because you CAN'T help it."...

got your reply.. seems I hit a nerve too...Men and women will never be equal thats just a fact. Some of us don't want to be equal we just want to survive with or without a partner we are all just trying to survive. How we treat people is how are defined. All men AND women might benifit from that advice. If I misunderstood some of your comments I am sorry you are correct we all need to vent at some point and time..
Equality implies equal value, or, "equal," rights. To have, "equal," respect.
It does not refer to one being good or one being bad. That's irrelevant.
When you talk about this, too, there's also a difference between having equal value and being exactly the same.
I have to say that sex differences are more culturally enforced than real, though.
The US and North America is a patriarchy. Look at the medical system, the patrilineage, wage gaps, poverty, and you see women are disadvantaged.

@DieBlutgrafin plz don't say that women are disadvantaged in all areas in the legal system. look at the poor guy who never gets to see his kids and has to give half his paycheck to a woman he probably now despises. and if you notice, i'm not trying to say men are above women, observe the title.
