Wow u are a smart one. The dog is much lighter now. This was done after we got her and we were aware of the weight issue. She has lost about 5 lbs. We will post a new vid soon. I appreciate your concern, but it is not needed.

No reliable vet would say a Dachy of that size is healthy, the weight is clearly around his stomach - not just the deep chest and muscular build. These dogs have amazing longevity until idiots over feed them putting unnecessary strain on the back and heart. so either your vet is a pothead or your trying to defend yourself.

Well, now that I look closer, yeah, she is a wee bit pudgy. Sorry. But I spent good $ on a vet to check mine, so maybe I can help save a buck or two.

Is she the Dachshund that had dick problems and lost the use of her hind legs? Is she doing water therapy to strenthen her hind legs? I'm proud of her if this is the one. If she's not then I know about Dachshunds and weight problems, My male mini Dachshund, who is neutered gets a little overweight every winter, Don't worry, she'll lose weight in the summer.

What do you feed her for diet food? My boy is still chubbier than he should be, though he has gotten better. But his weight stubbornly holds out and doesn't go much lower than it is now. I walk him and have him on R/D vet food. Any other things working for you?

Cool dog but it's WAY WAY overweight. It's going to develop back problems if it weights too much. My standard dachshund is exactly 22lbs...i take him roller blading and he eats exactly 1 cup of dry dog food a day (I measure it out). No human food either.
