A reading of The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. Not perfect (couple of minor errors) but still good I think.

  • This is a great poem, but if you think it's creepy, just wait until you read "Berenice", also by Poe. It's one of the most twisted, disturbing, and malevolently fucked up stories ever written.

  • I don't think The Raven is creepy. It's gothic, to be sure, but its more sad than scary.

  • XOmni, this is a great poem....however, I think you need to read the first customer review for this product on Amazon

    ;-)

  • Good job.

I have a version that says "sublunary being" rather than "living human being".

"sublunary" is better! I"ll attach my version so you can hear it.

  • Lucky Poe, he was allowed to have a window lattice. Me the government bans to install it due to the strict British health and safety legislation. It's extremely easy to break the window and ransack my bedroom in the houseshare where I live. On the other hand, it's unpractical to break the frontdoor and get there from the corridor. Yet, still other legislation forces me to have a door closer, a night latch and a lock at the door into my room from the corridor. For the security reasons, of course.

  • Its a great poem but I find it a creep too.

  • I learned this poem in childhood. It has followed me ever since.

  • i love poe, but this is one of my least favorite poems of his.

  • It is a fascinating poem.

  • I love this poem! Once on Halloween I visited Poe's house on Amity Street and then visited his grave in a church yard in Baltimore...Someone in a dark cape visits his grave and leaves a bottle of bourbon on all of his birthdays...

    Loved this reading!
