Discover the beauty details during the Haute Couture 2008/2009 fashion shows. Haute Couture models were exquisitely detailed from head to toe, as seen at the Christian Dior fashion show. A team was at hand to transform the models into elegant, bourgeoise women, precisely made up by Pat McGraph: glossy lips and smoky eyes took the limelight. For the regal queens thought up by Christian Lacroix, eyes were made-up with emerald green and black lace for a praying mantis effect.
For Armani Privé, hair styles were important. The perfect waves of the femmes fatales were paired with quasi-natural make-up. It was the same with Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci's Peruvian adventurers proudly strutted down the catwalk free of make up, their hair tied neatly back. Jean-Paul Gaultier's night owls had a sensual look aboutthem, with perfectly red lips and fringes which really captured the feel of the time. Finally at Chanel, the models adopted a Louise Brooks haircut and stuck to the grey based colours of the collection with smoky eyes, capturing their allure.
