The words to the songs may sound strange to the ones to familiar with the language but it's full of innuendos. So "Kuku kapanda baiskeli" might translate as "a chicken getting on/riding a bicycle" the actual meaning is completely different, very common especially in TAARAB music. Wabongo hoya.

can sumone translate 2 me what de chorus means...
nilotics 8 months ago
@nilotics
The chorus says "kuku kapanda baiskeli, bata kavaa raizoni"
"kuku means "chicken"
"panda" means "climb", in this context, it means "ontop" or "ride"
"baiskeli" is a swahili version of the word "bicycle"
"bata" means "duck"
"raizoni" is a type of shoes and they were popular in the 70s
The sentence can therefore me translated to "a chicken is riding a bike, a duck is wearing raizoni shoes"

@shevy The name of the song is "rafiki", by this same artist. I have it too on my channel. "Rafiki" means "friend" in swahili.
