  • it is hard to know, is he telling us the specials of the week or is it the statutory right of the customer, in the case of wanting to return something for credit; hard to tell.

If it is a religious statement, then it ought to be made with a more respectful background.

    Cheers from,

    Del.

  • The background was the radio playing in his shop... I did not edit the clip at all...

  • im aramean but i dont anderstand what he say i speak east-west aramaic (suryoyo)

    but its aramaic too

  • i'm impressed for some reason. thanks for the video!

  • can he speak aramic ?? or just praying ?

  • Fa, I learned some basic suroyo, but I need more practice. In California, where could I practice more?

  • I think it is the more conservative variety of aramaic (old palestinain aramaic) with the mandean aramaic , but with the diglossy phaenomenon with arabic, like in the samaritan aramaic, it seems influenced by arabic.

  • Tigrinya and Amharic are semetic languages too ;)

    He sounded cool ^_^

  • I am not quite sure actually. Maloula Aramaic is the only surviving western Aramaic language whereas the other ones are all eastern Aramaic languages.

  • Yohanun, isn't the "Maloula-Aramaic" much closer to the old Aramic than Suryoyo?

  • he is speaking Aramaic (western aramaic the maloula dialect)..we are speaking eastern aramaic which is divided into western eastern aramaic (seryoyo) and eastern eastern aramaic (seryaya/suret)

  • you are speaking arabic not aramaic. either you are speaking arabic or chaldean i am assyrian and i have no idea what they are saying because its all arabic and im assyrian from iran. i saw him making the sign of the cross but had no idea what he was saying its supposed to be shimid baba, o bruna, o rukhed quocha, kha alaha ameyn.
