The Beatles performing "I Want To Hold Your Hand" during their first US concert in Washington, D.C. at the old Washington Coliseum on Tuesday February 11th 1964. The audience consisted of 8,092 fans, most of whom were girls. The Beatles took the stage at 8.31pm and performed 12 songs. [Also on the bill were the Chiffons and Tommy Roe]

  • @clsarashimmer Other 1964 prices were: a Ford Mustang for $2360, gallon of gasoline for 30¢, the latest 45-RPM Beatles record for 84¢ and the Beatles' LP for $2.99. Everything sounds like a bargain until you consider that the Federal minimum wage was $1.25 per hour! :(

    You aren't hearing Paul at all. Microphone gremlins meant that essentially, John was singing this track solo.
