A Hydrophobic coating repulses water. It is applied to a surface to stop water and other liquids from settling or soaking in. As a result it can prevent the build up of snow or ice. The term Hydrophobic comes from the greek words 'hydro' meaning water' and 'phobos' meaning fear.

Since Hydrophobic coatings doesn't allow water to collect, it can help prevent corrosion or rust in metals.

This video shows water 'dancing' on the surface of a satellite dish. To find out more about Hydrophobic products or applications visit wcrichards.com.
