A very good lineal beat'em up that shows some power of the PC engine console. It uses the Arcade Card.

  • Is the fm towns version worse than the x68k game?

  • @Baseley09 I think the FMTOWNS version is worst than X68000, yes.

  • @malducci I agree with you.

  • (cont) Otherwise, the game is still fun. Not really an Arcade card game so to speak. It just loads the whole game into ACD at boot, instead of tailoring each stage for the incredible amount of ram like the way Sapphire does. Probably could have been made into a SCD/ACD bi-compatible game. Surprised that they didn't do that to sell more copies.

  • This game is actually a bit fun, until to get to some the of later levels. What's missing in this game is not enough enemy variety by the time you start the second half of the game. And being an arcade card game, they could gone into a little more detail in the background layer (it starts to feel repetitive after awhile) - parallax or not. It needs some more nice unique artwork to break it up. Maybe a reward system that gives you new moves are you progress in the game.

  • @Baseley09

That's because the PCE version is rather a port of the FM Towns version than the X68000 version.

  • This game isn't worthy of ACD status the x68000 version is quite better looking unfortunately....where are the parallax ?!

  • This and the remake are both very good games. I highly recommend them to beat-em-up fans.

  • I own the PS1 remake.. I reviewed on Gamefaqs back in 2007.. gave it a respectable 7/10.

  • There was a PS1 remake of this game a bit later on. It expanded on what was in this version, had some altered backgrounds, and a combo-based special move system a lot like Panzer Bandit (which I think was made by the same development team).
