The concerts were in one similar to the shelter above. Ours was brick and it seemed to disappear into part of our very large garden where my dad fought the cows off lol, grew vegetables and...............forgetmenots

Well remember we held concerts in them after the war as they were still there for a while - mind you at 6 & 7 you are quite small. We had a brick one in our back garden, heavon knows what that was meant to do lol.......

Wow, I just could not imagine the feelings you had when you had to go in one of the shelters. It had to be surreal.

well i think i thought it fun at that age one didnt worry, but was better when we got the indoor one
