Christian Bale *FULL* Unedited Flip Out on Set of Terminator

Christian Bale can be heard going ape-nuts at cinematographer Shane Hurlbut, who appears to have crossed the actor's eyeline during a scene for a second time. Bale also addresses Bruce Franklin, an assistant director and producer on the film who can be heard during the audio. Film execs sent this audiorecording of Bale's outburst to the motion picture's insurance company as protection in the event that Bale walked from the project during production.

In fairness, TMZ wrongly described the incident as "a director of photography accidentally ruined a scene by walking onto the set," when in fact crossing the eye line of an actor is considered pretty unprofessional and amateurish.

That's not to say Bale isn't being a smidge douchey, but here nor there: WE side with Batman on this one.

You got any ------- idea about, hey, it's ------- distracting having somebody walking up behind Bryce in the middle of the ------- scene? Give me a ------- answer! What don't you get about it?

Shane Hurlbut: I was looking at the light.

Bale: Ohhhhh, goooood for you. And how was it? I hope it was ------- good, because it's useless now, isn't it?

Hurlbut: OK.

Bale: ----- sake man, you're amateur. McG, you got ------- something to say to this prick?

'McG': I didn't see it happen.

Bale: Well, somebody should be ------- watching and keeping an eye on him.

McG: Fair enough.

Bale: It's the second time that he doesn't give a ---- about what is going on in front of the camera, all right? I'm trying to ------- do a scene here, and I am going "Why the ---- is Shane walking in there? What is he doing there?" Do you understand my mind is not in the scene if you're doing that?

Hurlbut: I absolutely apologise. I'm sorry, I did not mean anything by it.

Bale: Stay off the ------- set man. For ----- sake. Alright, let's go again.

McG: Let's just take a minute.

Bale: Let's not take a ------- minute, let's go again.

Bale: I'm going to ------- kick your ------- ass if you don't shut up for a second! All right?

McGay: Christian, Christian. It's cool.

Bale: I'm going to go... Do you want me to ------- go trash your lights? Do you want me to ------- trash 'em? Then why are you trashing my scene?

Hurlbut: I'm not trying to trash your scene.

Bale: You are trashing my scene!

Hurlbut: Christian, I was only...

Bale: You do it one more ------- time and I ain't walking on this set if you're still hired. I'm ------- serious. You're a nice guy. You're a nice guy, but that don't ------- cut it when you're ------- around like this on set.

I think Bale was ABSOLUTELY right ... you don't walk right into a scene and make changes while the actors are doing their thing - how the hell are they meant to concentrate.

And the fact that McG had nothing to say 'speaks' volumes about his directing skills.

@Raymint yeah and so is being a bin man that doesn't mean you can flip out and threaten to beat someone up, mainly because you wouldn't be taken seriously and also because they understand people make mistakes form time to time. lol and talk about professionalism last time i checked being "professional" whatever the fuck that means meant keeping your cool and controlling your emotions. fucking spoilt actor acts like hes 5

@robertwilsong I don't think Christian Bale would've gone as far as he did if the DP recognised his fault and had felt some sense of responsibility. These are, like, the basic rules of operating on a set so if THEY'RE being broken, and by someone pretty high up, then it says a lot about the production you're working on

... And I think Bale came to that realisation, when he snapped.

@robertwilsong Erm ... acting's quite tough and there are rigours and procedures in place to accommodate for this. In fact they are, for moments at a time, the centre piece of the entire production. This is something you come to quickly realise when working on a set so if you're narrow minded enough to STILL not know that you have to treat actors delicately while they work, right up to the point at which you argue back about your own lack of professionalism ...
