  • I didn't really like Netrebko until very recently. However, one thing cannot be denied. Since her earlier years, and especially since her pre-pregnancy times, she has evolved imensely, bost vocally and, most importantly, dramatically. I used to loathe her shallow and unimaginative interpretations of arias that she would put together just for the sake of their sex appeal. I believe that she has changed. I might be wrong, but I think that Anna Bolena was a true turning point in her career.

  • @Onegin65 I'm curious (I'm a fan of Anna Netrebko) was she booed at La Scala?

  • @Cenayon Exactly ^_^ I used not like her either but her voice has gained more power and beauty, for example, her Anna Bolena made me cry (in a good way ;)

  • SUPER

  • This is really good! This is a good role for her. She certainly dug into this music.

  • This might not be the conventional, or even the correct approach to Mozart. It doesn't have the natural smoothness, the elegant phrasing that we expect from a Mozart aria. But I believe she has somehow made it up to us with a luxurious interpretation full of dramatic intensity that just gives us a whole new insight into the character of Donna Anna. Opera is music AND drama. Drama without music is colourless, but music without drama is lifeless.

  • @Gruberovito Decisamente!!

  • @anacleto2011 That's true!!
