The opening 'silent' montage to Up is one of the most powerful, emotive and amazing pieces of cinema I have ever seen in my life. Just beautiful. Congratulations to the film makers and Pixar for treating the audience with enough respect to realise that the depth of the love and devotion between Carl and Ellie could be communicated through the way they touched, looked at each other, lived together and dealt with life with its myriad highs and lows. Friendship, sacrifice, togetherness,...love

@jsiff93624 At 1:25 there is a short scene right after they painted the child's room, showing Ellie crying in hospital. So either she cannot have children or she lost the child during pregnancy :(

I cried when I saw this for the first time. This was because my aunt died recently and my uncle is like Ellie- adventurous, fun and... more fun! When his wife, who was like Carl, died, he saw this movie and bawled. So did I. RIP aunt Sinade, we will miss you! :,)
