Dr. Stewart Goldman, medical director of Neuro-oncology at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, was recently awarded the Pioneer Award for Pediatric Neuro-oncology from Children's Brain Tumor Foundation.
Dr. Goldman is an amazing doctor & person! My family & I have known Dr. Stew for over 20 years - we met when my little brother, Bear was battling Wilms Tumor. He made a huge impact in our lives. Prior to my brother's passing in early 1993, he and our mom, Kathleen founded Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation and Dr. Stew has been an integral part of the org. and my family since inception and still is today. Proud of you Dr. Stew and thanks for all you do!
Same with Dr. Tomita. He's been great with my medical care as well. I consider myself one of the luckiest people to know the people who I've met at Children's Memorial.
I've known Dr. Goldman for 10 years now. I am proud to not only be known to him as a patient, but also as a friend. He lives about 15 minutes from me, and used to come to all of my little league baseball games. He's had a huge impact on my life, and ever since the sixth episode in the series when he and I were on together, we've continued to grow that strong doctor-patient relationship.
Love Dr. Goldman, he's the best. I first saw him in the PBS series, Children's Hospital. He has inspired so many people, and the series showed a very intimate part of hospital life his work. Children's Memorial is so lucky to have him.
