This is my Seagate ST31000528AS connected to my laptop via an eSATA Express Card controller making very weird noises. They usually last for a couple minutes, in which the disk is completely inaccessible (or hardly accessible), and end - the disk then returns to normal state. They occur at random moments most of the time.

  • i think this is due to lack of power.

  • @DEATHTRUTH You're right. It turned out it was the issue with my PSU and not the disk itself.
