I love his expression @ 0:27. It's like "HELL YEAH!! HERE WE GO!!!"

This guy is kinda good. Like the BEST EVER kinda good. I can only imagine how much great music was trapped in his head when he died. I think its a greater loss and Buddy Holly and Jimi Hendrix combined. Personal opinion, but this guy is the best guitarist/composer the world his ever known.

Twenty-six years on now, and still brilliant...what a spark he had.

When I want to introduce people to the music of Michael Hedges, I usually have three "go to" compositions. Aerial Boundaries for incredible technique. Rickover's Dream for inspirational beauty. And Gospel/Tomorrow Never Knows for what, to me, seems to be Michael in pure, joyous guitar playing mode. Thanks for these videos!

Just listened to a clip from Giovanni Baglioni. You can hear the influence at the very end. Brought this one back to me anyway. Song is called "Get Up". Thanks YouTube!

@whouston33wh Check the new Michael hedges channel, he had a lot of songs he was playing in the seventies released on his last prehumorous album

Make up a story when you go to sleep tonight...
You can be a dreamer. You can be your dream come true.

type3, you might note that these two tunes are on the 1996 album, "Oracle." However, he obviously played them for more than 10 years before releasing them to a general audience.
In my opinion, this live version in 1985 is better than the version released in 1996 on "Oracle." Anyone else want to vote?
-
wow he didn't release these songs until 11 years later...amazing

The greatest comment comes from other professional musicians. Just check out some of the comments steve vai, david crosby & others have said about him. Michael was one of a kind. Can't really compare him to anyone.
Tomorrow Never Knows isn't a Harrison's but a Lennon-McCartney's, of course Lennon.
