http://ywcasgv.org Empowering women and ending racism is the YWCA's mission. This moving and inspiring overview demonstrates how the work is being done in this area of Los Angeles. Founded in 1935, the YWCA San Gabriel Valley has worked at the individual and community levels to achieve our global mission: to empower women and girls and to eliminate racism, sexism, poverty and violence. We are an affiliate of the YWCA USA which is a member of the World YWCA movement.
The YWCA is committed to providing women and girls with the information they need to manage the critical issues in their lives. Some of the services we provide include child care and youth development, housing and shelter, economic empowerment, leadership development, global awareness, racial justice and human rights, health and fitness and violence prevention.
We achieve all of this through our classes and programs, WINGS (Women in Need Growing Strong) Shelter and Outreach, Intervale Senior Services, volunteer opportunities, and our Speakers Bureau. For more information on how you can contribute or join our organization, please call us at (626) 960-2995 or via email at info@ywcasgv.org.
