From 1:34 on its interesting, how he chooses to play the triplets (tuplets), because you can clearly hear them, but also figure out the melodic line behind them.
Nice mixture i think.

@pianoplayer450 did you say 'it needs to be a littler slower'? as if your interpretation of the piece was the only correct one?
Comments... should always be approve only

Interesting interpretation. The tempo marking is simply Lento, which given the generous rubato, I'd say it is. What strikes me though are the pronounced accents on the first two notes, and not so much the third, relative to the tempo. I think S. is really onto something her vis, the staccato markings of the first two notes when the figure recurs. This nicely sets up the sforzando at m.6 Very much about the compression and expansion. Coming out of the agitato faster makes a lot of sense too.

Damn what a monster.

needs to be a litttlllleeeee slower.... but nice rubato and nice overall expression (:
and i LOVE the middle part in this vid!!!

@sumimimi0 actually, it's only slightly faster than normal. anyway different people have different interpretations of the piece. i've heard super slow versions and faster versions.

@SCaliforniaF it's only the middle that's this fast. i had to play this piece as well a month ago. play it slowly in the middle where it goes to allegro. out of the three note groups, make sure you make the first one louder than the rest, or else it will sound messed up.

@SCaliforniaF piano teachers aren't all-knowing.
It's so haunting...

Although there is a little too much rubato for my liking, this is still a very convincing and excellent performance.
