This is a quote from Albert Einstein's book, "Out of My Later Years." I think it sums up my own outlook on humanity.
Here's the text of the entire quote:
A human being is part of a whole, called by us "universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our tasks must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

Einstein knew that the next frontier of science was and IS consciousness. What is consciousness? Its the constant flow of "information" from one entity to another in order to form more complex "patterns" for lack of a better term. This field of information starts in the subatomic realm and becomes more and more complex at it gives rise to matter and then beings. Once beings become involved in the consciousness equation, it becomes incomprehensibly complex. Imagine a constantly evolvingE=MC2

Mr. Rich,
I share these beliefs, and experience them as another form of prison. Just 2 examples of that prison:
I have a really hard time buying anything, because I know that there is an element of human suffering embedded in most every commodity. Most people who know that about me think I'm a freak.
While I'm capable of great empathy and compassion and feel a connection with everybody, I can easily snap and wish out loud for the punishment and/or death of people who I view as oppressors.
